Pakistan Refutes Indian Defense Claims Amid Rising Tensions

Islamabad: Pakistan has firmly dismissed recent allegations made by India’s Defense Minister and Chief of Army Staff, labeling them as unfounded. The accusations, which emerged over the past two days, have been met with a strong rebuke from Pakistan.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognized disputed territory. Khan reiterated that the final status of the region is to be resolved in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Khan stated that India has neither legal nor moral grounds to claim the territories of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. He further asserted that such rhetoric from Indian leadership is an attempt to distract from the ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesperson highlighted that these actions are seen as efforts to suppress the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for self-determination. Pakistan also conveyed that provocative statements from India are detrimental to regional peace and stability.

In his remarks, Khan urged India to reflect on its own alleged involvement in activities such as targeted assassinations, subversion, and state-sponsored terrorism in foreign territories, rather than making baseless accusations against Pakistan.
