Zone-VI secured their second consecutive PCB Regional Inter-District Senior (Karachi Region) Cricket Tournament title, defeating Zone-V by an innings and three runs at UBL Sports Complex before lunch on the final day of their fifth match. Zone-VI still has one fixture remaining. In another match, Zone-IV registered their second tournament victory, prevailing over Zone-III by 38 runs at Baqai Cricket Ground, largely thanks to Afnan Khan’s impressive bowling figures of 7/79.
Zone-VI posted a formidable first-innings total of 310. Zone-V, in response, faltered at 133 and were forced to follow on. In their second innings, they were bundled out for 174 in 52 overs. Muhammad Hassan Iqbal top-scored with 76, supported by Muhammad Ali Butt (24) and Shoaib Khan (20). Muhammad Maaz and Muhammad Makki each took three wickets, while Saifullah claimed two, finishing the match with figures of 7/73.
Zone-IV scored 253 in their first innings and 205 in their second, with contributions from Yasir Mushtaq (39), Arsalan Farzand (38), Afnan Khan (36), and Imran Shah (29). Israr Ahmed Awan was the pick of the bowlers for Zone-III, securing 6/74 in the second innings and 12/143 in the match, with Abdul Rafay adding 3/91. Zone-III managed 217 in their first innings and were dismissed for 207 in their second. Ubais ullah led the scoring with 41, while Sami Afridi (33), Syed Anas Shah (31), Abdullah Umer (28), and Fahad Ansari (26) also contributed. Afnan Khan”s outstanding performance of 6/79 in the second innings and 11/120 in the match propelled Zone-IV to victory, supported by Hamza Qureshi”s 2/73.
