Junior Padel Players Vie for World Cup Spots In Karachi Championship

Eighty-six young padel players from across Pakistan are competing in the Naveena Steel National Junior Padel Championship 2025 in Karachi, vying for a chance to represent the nation at the World Junior Padel Cup in Spain.

The tournament, which kicked off at the KMC Maidan, is divided into Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 categories. Organized by the Pakistan Padel Federation (PPF) in conjunction with Maidan and the Sindh Padel Federation, the competition adheres to international regulations set by Padel Asia and the International Padel Federation.

The opening ceremony, held at the KMC Sports Complex, was attended by PPF CEO Mudassar Arain, Maidan owner Mr. Usman, and PPF President Muhammad Mateen. Mr. Mateen confirmed the tournament”s role as a qualifying event for the World Cup.

A patriotic display saw participants and officials honor the heroes of Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos and commemorate Pakistan”s independence with a flag ceremony.

Matches are being played on various courts at KMC Maidan, culminating in the finals on Sunday, August 4th.

Early results include victories for Sindh TTF over KPK and Islamabad Plus in the Under-18 group. Sindh Pro defeated both Punjab Thunderbolts and Sindh Legends, while Punjab Thunderbolts also triumphed over Sindh Padel Goats, and Sindh Legends beat Sindh Green.

In the Under-16 category, Sindh Lions and Sindh Kings recorded initial wins against KPK Boys and Sindh Boys respectively, but KPK Boys later bested Sindh Kings, and Sindh Boys defeated Sindh Lions. Sindh NAM X beat Sindh Babolads but lost to Sindh Acer.

The Under-14 matches saw Sindh Allahwala and Sindh Warriors overcome Sindh Padel X, while Sindh Shaheen defeated both Sindh Arsalan and Sindh Smash Bros. Sindh Zaza also secured a win against Sindh Vikings.
