Pakistan Shaheens are set to face the South Asian Cricket Academy and MCC Young Cricketers in their last match of their England tour. The three-day contest begins Sunday at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury. This final fixture follows a 2-1 one-day series win for the Shaheens and a drawn three-day game against the Professional County Club Select XI.
The previous three-day match, held at the first Central County Ground in Hove, showcased a strong performance from Azan Awais. The left-handed batsman reached a century (103 runs), which included a 98-run first innings. Bowlers Mir Hamza, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Mehran Mumtaz also contributed, taking three, two, and two wickets respectively.
Mir Hamza, speaking to PCB Digital, highlighted the tour”s value as a learning opportunity, emphasizing the difference in playing environments. He stressed the importance of such contests for player development. Hamza explained his successful bowling approach, focusing on fuller lengths to exploit the English conditions.
