Pakistan’s digital banking landscape witnesses a significant development as Aik, the country’s pioneering Islamic digital banking platform, enters a strategic alliance with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).
This collaboration aims to enhance Aik”s infrastructure with PTCL”s secure and dependable Smart Cloud services, ensuring business continuity and a resilient digital framework. Aik, under the umbrella of BankIslami”s digital-first initiative, seeks to offer comprehensive financial services that are both convenient and seamless. The digital banking platform is poised to play a crucial role in making financial services more accessible and efficient across Pakistan.
The formal agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Aik”s Islamabad headquarters, attended by top executives from both organizations. Notable figures present included Ashfaque Ahmed, Chief Officer of Aik, Waqar Ul Hassan, CIO of Aik Digital, and Asif Ahmad, Group Chief Business Solutions Officer of PTCL and Ufone 4G.
Ashfaque Ahmed highlighted the partnership”s significance, stating, ‘At Aik, we are driven by our purpose of expanding access to Islamic banking across the country and advancing our overarching mission of Saving Humanity from Riba. Achieving this requires systems and networks that are robust and scalable enough to meet the growing demand for Shariah-compliant banking.’
