Microfinance – Mobilink Bank Dominates AMC-9 Awards for Revolutionizing Digital Loans and Empowering Women

In a major acknowledgment of its role in transforming Pakistan’s financial landscape, Mobilink Bank secured four prestigious accolades at the 9th Annual Microfinance Conference (AMC-9) for its pioneering work in digital nano-loans and financial inclusion, particularly for women.

According to the bank’s information today, the bank was distinguished as the Top Microfinance Bank for Active Borrowers in nano-loans and the leading institution for M-Wallets, which are powered by JazzCash. The institution also received the Top Microfinance Bank for Innovation award and was conferred the title of Leading Microfinance Bank in terms of Women Borrowers, highlighting its impact on gender equity and microcredit outreach.

Aamir Ibrahim, Chairman of Mobilink Bank, commented on the accomplishments. ‘These awards reaffirm that meaningful financial inclusion isn’t just about access, it’s about impact,’ he stated. ‘At Mobilink Bank and JazzCash, we are combining technology with empathy to enable millions of Pakistanis, especially women, to participate confidently in the formal economy.’

The bank’s extensive reach is demonstrated by its more than 8.2 million active nano-loan borrowers, with total disbursements surpassing PKR 45.9 billion. Its digital financial services platform, JazzCash, serves 53.5 million wallet holders, a third of whom are women. The institution also recently completed an industry-first core banking system upgrade to R23, further signaling its focus on technological advancement.

The AMC-9, themed ‘Renaissance of Microfinance,’ was jointly organized by the Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN) and UNIDO-PAIDAR. The event brought together key stakeholders, including regulators like the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), alongside development partners such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
