Pakistan Pursues Indigenous Vaccine Production for Domestic and Export Markets

Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal today announced that initiatives are underway to establish domestic production of vaccines for various diseases, aiming to achieve self-sufficiency and enter the global export market.

Addressing a function in the capital, the minister asserted that the nation possesses the capability not only to fulfill its internal vaccine requirements but also to supply them internationally. He confirmed that engagements with different countries are in progress to facilitate this goal.

Kamal also revealed plans for a new, coordinated health complaint management system. This platform will enable the public to register health-related grievances through a dedicated four-digit number.

The minister further stressed the importance of a universal health insurance scheme, stating that its implementation would contribute to a reduction in the overall health budget.
