Protest against incomplete construction of Nasirabad Taluka Hospital continues on eleventh day

The protest against the incomplete construction of Nasirabad Taluka Hospital entered its 11th day on Tuesday, with the Sujag Shehri Ittehad highlighting the severe lack of local medical facilities, which forces accident victims to be transported to Larkana for essential treatment.

In a rally organized by the Sujag Shehri Ittehad, citizens carried black flags and banners and chanted slogans. The movement is being led by figures including Sufi Ghaffar Channa, Asif Kathio, Muhammad Malook Leghari, Ali Gohar Jatoi, and Habib Solangi, among others.

Speakers said they have been trying to inform the local Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and the health department about the crisis, but feel they are not being heard. They pointed out that the MPA inaugurated the incomplete medical center in 2021 and has since disappeared, while the contractor is also missing.

The protest leaders also drew attention to the existing Rural Health Center, which they claim lacks doctors and has no available medicines, rendering it incapable of handling emergencies.

The protestors have demanded that senior health department officials and the Sindh government take notice of their protest. They are demanding the completion of the Taluka Hospital and an immediate resolution to the shortage of staff and medicines at the Rural Health Center.

The organizers have warned that the public protest will continue if their demands are not met.
