The provincial government has restored 164 Basic Health Units (BHUs) in the remote districts of Balochistan over the last 20 months, an effort aimed at reducing the need for thousands of families to travel long distances for medical care.
It was officially stated on Tuesday that these restored health centers are now equipped to provide timely medical services to the local population. The centers have been furnished with modern medical equipment, a stock of essential medicines, and staffed with doctors.
To ensure operational continuity, especially in areas with unreliable infrastructure, these units have been equipped with solar power systems. Furthermore, a biometric attendance system has also been implemented to maintain staff accountability and service availability.
