The Pakistan Stock Exchange experienced a significant upward trend on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index climbing by 1,456.61 points to conclude the session at 186,518.72. The robust performance represented a 0.79 per cent gain and contributed to a substantial increase in market capitalisation.
The index demonstrated considerable momentum throughout the trading day, reaching a high of 187,015.12 against a low of 184,896.71 before settling near its peak.
Mirroring the positive sentiment, the KSE-30 Index also advanced, posting a gain of 397.05 points, or 0.70 per cent. It closed the day at 57,477.09, having navigated a range between a high of 57,683.02 and a low of 56,953.15.
Market activity showed increased participation, with the turnover in the regular market reaching nearly 1.33 billion shares, up from the previous session”s 1.30 billion. The traded value correspondingly rose to over Rs. 86.58 billion from the prior day”s Rs. 85.32 billion.
The day”s bullish activity resulted in a noteworthy expansion of investor wealth, as the overall market capitalisation swelled to Rs. 20.90 trillion from Rs. 20.74 trillion recorded in the preceding session.
