Karachi: Dawlance, a prominent home appliance manufacturer in Pakistan and part of the global Beko Group, has launched a new condenser manufacturing facility in partnership with White Eagle Engineering Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Optimize Engineering Core Pvt. Ltd. This development is a significant step in Dawlance's strategy to enhance localization and marks an advance in Pakistan's refrigeration component manufacturing sector.
According to Dawlance, the facility, developed with the collaboration of White Eagle Engineering and international technical partner Tatato, addresses a crucial gap by enabling the domestic production of condensers. These components, known for their technical complexity and quality requirements, were previously imported entirely. The inauguration event featured Mr. Umar Ahsan Khan, CEO of Dawlance, alongside senior engineering and development team members who reviewed the manufacturing operations and quality control systems designed to international standards.
The facility's establishment follows months of collaboration between Dawlance, Beko Türkiye's Engineering and Rand D teams, and technical specialists from White Eagle Engineering. Successfully designed, tested, and validated by local engineers, the condensers meet and exceed the standards of imported counterparts. This achievement challenges the previous notion that such components were too complex for local manufacturing.
Mr. Umar Ahsan Khan emphasized Dawlance's commitment to localization and Pakistan's industrial capability. He stated that the facility's establishment reflects the potential progress achievable through local engineering expertise aligned with international standards. By manufacturing critical components like evaporators and condensers locally, Dawlance aims to strengthen the supply chain, reduce import dependence, and support sustainable industry growth in Pakistan.
Currently, about 75 percent of the component's value is produced locally, with plans for further localization to reduce import reliance. The initiative is expected to deliver strategic localization benefits, including quality improvement, foreign exchange savings, skill development, and potential export opportunities as capabilities expand.
This partnership underscores Dawlance's dedication to advancing modern manufacturing, strengthening local industry, and supporting sustainable industrialization by reducing emissions and creating value closer to consumption points.
