Karachi: Mari Energies Ltd has announced its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, reporting a notable increase in net profit after tax (NPAT) to PkR12.8 billion, a 15 percent rise compared to the same period last year. The company also declared a cash dividend of PkR8.3 per share for the half-year, marking a significant change from the previous year when no payout was made.
According to AKD Securities Limited, the company's net sales reached PkR44.8 billion, an 8 percent increase year-on-year, attributed to a recovery in oil and gas production. Output for the quarter was recorded at 1,500 barrels per day of oil and 884 million cubic feet per day of gas, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 17 percent and 2 percent, respectively. Despite these gains, operating expenses rose to PkR12.0 billion, up 44 percent from the previous quarter, which exceeded expectations and impacted overall financial performance. Additionally, royalty charges increased by 33 percent to PkR10.7 billion, driven by higher effective charges on Mari Dand PL, raising the effective royalty rate to 23.8 percent from 19.4 percent in the same period last year.
