A person named Khalid Khan Pathan was killed with a sharp-edged tool on Wednesday in the 6-Mile area of Gojra, which reliable sources have described as the result of a personal enmity with members of the Chiriyana community.
Authorities have taken the deceased’s body into custody and moved it to DHQ Hospital for post-mortem. Law enforcement agencies have confirmed that preliminary proceedings of the incident are underway.
A police spokesperson told the media that a formal case has not yet been registered. A murder case against the alleged attackers will be registered after receiving the post-mortem report and after a formal application is submitted by the family of the deceased, Khalid Khan.
Authorities have assured that after the family files the necessary application, immediate action will be taken to register the case and to arrest the suspects involved in the murder.
