Residents in Haji Noonari village captured two armed robbers on Wednesday following a shootout, which occurred after the assailants critically injured a local shopkeeper, Abdul Razzaq Noonari, during a failed robbery attempt.
The incident began when the suspects attempted to rob Abdul Razzaq Noonari’s shop in Daidrah village. Upon the shopkeeper’s resistance, the culprits shot and seriously wounded him.
Following the attack, the robbers fled towards Larkana, passing through Arthur Bridge and heading in the direction of the injured man’s own village, Haji Noonari.
Alerted to the attack, locals from Haji Noonari mobilized to intercept the fleeing suspects. The robbers opened fire on the group of residents, who returned fire.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, two of the assailants were injured and subsequently captured by members of the community. The captured individuals have been identified as Hamzo son of Mumtaz Chandio, resident of Batian, and Irshad Ali son of Muharram, resident of Allahabad, Larkana.
The villagers handed over the injured suspects to the custody of the Daidrah police. Authorities confirmed that the captured individuals have been moved to Nasirabad Hospital for medical treatment, while Mr. Noonari has been transferred to a hospital in Larkana for more specialized care due to his critical condition.
