A delegation representing the German Importers Association held discussions with senior officials at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) to investigate partnership opportunities for commercialising locally developed innovations for the international market, with a specific focus on sustainability and wastewater treatment.
According to a statement today, the interactive meeting, arranged by the university’s Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC), was attended by Dr. Michael Arretz, Managing Director of the German association, and Mr. Sarim Mehmood, CEO of Fruit of Sustainability. They met with UCP Pro-Rector Dr. Hammad Naveed to explore ways to strengthen global market linkages and enhance the university’s engagement with industry partners.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director of ORIC, presented a portfolio of UCP’s key innovation projects. The showcase featured a wastewater treatment system, the development of fly ash bricks, and a range of industry-ready prototypes from the food, pharmaceutical, and engineering sectors.
Following the briefing, the German representatives conducted a tour of UCP’s significant research and innovation facilities. The itinerary included the Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Engineering Lab, COFIC, and Takhleeq.
The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Director of Innovation, faculty members, and the ORIC team were also in attendance during the visit.
