Karachi: The Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Amaan Paracha, has highlighted the urgent need for business-friendly policies and a fair tax system to address the challenges facing the country’s exporters and importers. He praised the efforts of Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif in tackling these issues but emphasized the importance of further measures to stimulate economic growth and restore investor confidence.
According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Paracha noted that the economic difficulties faced by exporters and importers are exacerbated by the Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union. He stressed that the government's current focus on increasing exports, attracting investment, and reviving industrial activity is commendable. However, he called for effective implementation of these measures by the bureaucracy to provide relief to the industrial sector and stabilize the economy.
Paracha also pointed out the need to address rising poverty and unemployment, urging for stagnant exports to be revitalized. He emphasized that the Prime Minister's vision, if properly executed, could offer significant support to small and medium-sized enterprises, which are burdened by expensive utilities, tax pressures, and economic uncertainty.
