Police Seize Drugs, Weapons in Major Capital Crackdown; 18 Arrested

Law enforcement authorities reported today to have apprehended 18 individuals and confiscated a significant cache of narcotics and illegal firearms during a series of targeted operations across the federal capital.

The extensive seizures included 1,044 grams of hashish, 605 grams of Ice, 317 grams of heroin, and 30 bottles of liquor. Additionally, officials recovered five pistols, one rifle, and associated ammunition from the possession of the accused.

According to police details, personnel from the Ramna, Golra, Tarnol, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Noon, Shams Colony, Sihala, Humak, Phulgran, and Shehzad Town police stations detained 16 suspects allegedly involved in various criminal activities. Formal cases have been registered against the individuals, and further investigations are proceeding.

In a separate initiative, a special campaign targeting fugitives resulted in the arrest of two proclaimed offenders by various police teams.

These operations were conducted following special directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of a continued and effective crackdown on criminal elements to maintain peace and security in the city.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reaffirmed the force”s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He stated that no elements would be permitted to disrupt public order and that ensuring the protection of citizens remains the foremost priority for the Islamabad Police.

Authorities have also encouraged residents to play an active role in crime prevention by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities to their local police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline to foster cooperation between the public and police in eradicating crime.
