Police Dismantle Notorious Gangs, Seize Stolen Motorcycles and Valuables

Authorities in the federal capital today apprehended two wanted members of criminal syndicates implicated in widespread motorcycle theft and street crime, recovering a significant cache of stolen valuables in a targeted operation.

The Islamabad Police Koral station team successfully detained the two individuals by employing a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence resources.

The organised outfits were reportedly involved in numerous incidents of bike lifting and snatching activities. During the operation, police officials also seized four stolen motorbikes, mobile phones, and a quantity of cash from the possession of the accused.

Formal cases have previously been registered against the detained suspects, and a more detailed investigation into their activities is now in progress.

In a statement, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, confirmed that stringent measures are being enforced against offenders involved in motorcycle theft and robbery across the city. He noted that these actions have led to a discernible reduction in such illicit activities within the federal capital.

The DIG has instructed all officers to persist with the ongoing crackdown against criminal elements, emphasising the importance of ensuring all culprits are brought to justice.

He also issued an appeal for public cooperation, urging citizens to promptly report any suspicious individuals, objects, or activities to their nearest police station or by calling the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15.’
