Multiple shops sealed in Okara for ‘smart lockdown’ violation, strict restrictions imposed

Authorities today sealed multiple business centers for violating the newly enforced business hours in the three tehsils of the district under the “smart lockdown” strategy to tackle the energy crisis.

On the directive of Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed, administrative officers and para-force personnel have tightened the monitoring of bazaars and markets. Joint operations are being conducted in various areas to enforce the government-stipulated hours for the closure of shops and commercial centers.

In addition to sealing the business centers, traders were also given a stern warning to adhere to the new schedule. Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed called the implementation of the lockdown policy “inevitable” to overcome the energy shortage and appealed to the business community and shopkeepers to show responsibility and abide by the law.

The Deputy Commissioner further clarified that legal action will be taken without discrimination against any individual or business violating government directives.
