Firing incidents and multiple police encounters across various districts of Karachi on Sunday resulted in one death and several injuries, including civilians caught in crossfire and personal disputes. Law enforcement agencies arrested multiple suspected robbers during these widespread operations.
Among the civilian victims, Nargis, 70, wife of Abdul Sattar, sustained injuries from a stray bullet in her home in Mianwali Colony, Orangi Town, West District. She was transferred to ASH for immediate medical assistance, and Mominabad Police Station initiated investigations.
Separately, Barkat Ali, 45, was injured near Rehmanabad Chowk, Cattle Colony, West District, in a firing incident due to personal enmity. He was also transferred to ASH for treatment, and Surjani Town Police Station is continuing its investigations.
Matiullah, 50, was also targeted by a stray bullet at Hub Chowki Bus Stop, Baghdadi. He was transferred to CHK for medical assistance, and Baghdadi Police are conducting further investigations.
The day’s events also included multiple police encounters with suspected criminals. Near PSO Petrol Pump on Kashmir Road, East District, police arrested two suspected robbers after an exchange of fire; one suspect was injured. Officers confiscated a pistol, bullets, and a motorcycle from the scene. The injured person was admitted to the hospital, and Jamshed Quarters Police Station is actively continuing investigations.
A more serious confrontation occurred near Society Cemetery, East District, where Shaheen Force police exchanged fire with robbers. This encounter resulted in the death of an unknown assailant, while his accomplice managed to escape. A pistol, bullets, and a motorcycle were recovered. The body of the deceased was transferred to a medical facility by Ferozabad Police for legal formalities.
In Gulshan-e-Zia, West District, a police operation led to the arrest of three injured robbers. Authorities confiscated a pistol, bullets, mobile phones, cash, and a motorcycle. The injured suspects were transferred to the hospital, and Pakistan Bazaar Police are conducting further investigations.
Another exchange of fire took place at Saba Cinema Chowrangi, Central District, where police apprehended three robbers, one of whom was injured. Three pistols, bullets, and a motorcycle were confiscated. The injured person was transferred to the hospital for treatment, and NKIA Police Station is continuing its investigations.
Near Korangi Rehri Goth Juma Bridge, a robber was injured in a police encounter. Hassan, 21, identified as the son of Javed, was transferred to Jinnah Hospital via Edhi ambulance.
Finally, beneath Nazim Bridge, Mudassir, 25, son of Abdul Qadir, sustained bullet wounds and was admitted to Civil Hospital via Edhi ambulance.
