Advisor: (10b Tree Tsunami project restored with PM’s approval: Amin Aslam)

ISLAMABAD:Ten Billion Tree Tsunami project, which was suspended due to Coronavirus, has been restored with the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

This was stated by Advisor to Prime Minister for Climate Change Malik Muhammad Amin Aslam while addressing to news briefing along-with CEO National Disaster Risk Management Fund Lieutenant General (r) Nadeem Ahmed here on Friday.

He said 65,000 workers, who were associated with Ten Billion Tree Tsunami project, would resume their services on emergency basis. The Adviser further said that Pakistan is now facing a challenge of Climate change and weak economy due to Coronavirus.

He said the government is focusing on three elements, including Prevention, mitigation, and recovery under prevailing coronavirus situation. Speaking on the occasion, retired Lt. General Nadeem Ahmed said an amount of Rs9.50 billion provided by the World Bank will be spent on the recovery of economy and up-scaling of ongoing projects of climate change affected by Coronavirus.
