KARACHI:After the passage of six years, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday decided 54 cases relating to a raid at Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters-Nine Zero, and acquitted the high profile target killers in a case pertaining to recovery of explosive material from the party office.
The ATC heard the cases linked to raid on MQM’s Nine-Zero. The acquitted 12 suspects including Faisal aka Mota, Ubaid aka K2, Nadir Shah, Amir, Imtiaz, Abdul Qadir, Kazim Raza, Muhammad Amir, Shakeel, Mahmood Hasan and others in cases pertaining to charges under arms and explosives acts.
The court has also sentenced to imprisonment for 10 years to a suspect named Faisal who was found guilty of possessing illegal arms in another case while another suspect, Farhan Shabbir, was sentenced to eight-year-imprisonment under similar charges.
It may be noted that the Sindh Rangers on March 12, 2015, raided at the MQM’s headquarters, Nine-Zero, had arrested several convicted and wanted criminals.
