Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad today announced that construction on the critical Altaf Hussain Hali Road is set to commence soon, following the resolution of technical impediments that had previously stalled the infrastructure project.

Speaking as the chief guest at an oath-taking ceremony, Murad confirmed that the development work, spanning from Malir Police Station to Murtaza Chowrangi in front of Gohar Green City, will move forward once the budget is allocated and a tender is issued. He emphasized that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is committed to addressing the metropolis”s civic problems.

The announcement was made during the induction of the newly elected Gohar Green City Malir Residents Committee. The new office-bearers, including President Babul Baloch, General Secretary Chaudhry Naseem Akhtar, Vice President Rana Noor Sajid, and Finance Secretary Khurram Shehzad, were sworn into their roles.

Murad assured the new committee of his full cooperation, stating, “The issues of this area will be my issues, and resolving them will be my top priority.” He noted that development initiatives are being executed without discrimination across the city, including in the Korangi and Malir districts, as part of the Pakistan Peoples Party”s public service mission.

In a related development, the Deputy Mayor revealed that the Quaidabad Flyover is undergoing a significant expansion to eight lanes, a measure intended to eliminate persistent traffic congestion in the area.

Newly elected President Babul Baloch and General Secretary Chaudhry Naseem Akhtar addressed the ceremony, highlighting local concerns and pledging to work diligently to transform Gohar Green City into a model residential society.

The event was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Asif Khan of Gohar Group of Companies, Akram Khan Kohati, Syed Muhammad Sarfaraz, and various community and religious leaders, alongside members of the society’s Women’s Wing and local residents.
