The Sindh Culture Department and Sukkur Arts Council today jointly organized a Bedil Literary Conference and a musical evening in Sukkur, to commemorate the 158th annual Urs of the renowned Sufi poet Faqeer Qadir Bakhsh Bedil.
This cultural program, which was held at the Singer Ali Saleem Auditorium of Sukkur Arts Council, attracted a diverse number of prominent poets, writers, artists, and other notable personalities from across Sindh.
During the literary session, renowned poets and writers of Sindh, including Adal Soomro, Ayaz Gul, Akhtar Dargahi, Sarwar Saif, Meher Khadim, Ibrahim Kharl, Sajjad Mirani, and Zahid Rahoojo, presented scholarly papers.
These presentations reviewed Bedil’s personality, his poetic works, and his philosophical thoughts. These proceedings were moderated by poet Amar Iqbal.
At the same time, a musical evening was also held where Barkat Ali Bhat, Aneena Fida, Bakhtawar Ali, Gul Muhammad Junejo, and devotees of Bedil showcased their artistry, which left a lasting impression on the program.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Majid Ali Mako, who was representing the Sukkur District Administration, appreciated these flawlessly arranged proceedings.
Arts Council President Mumtaz Bukhari thanked the attendees and praised the Culture Department for organizing such important cultural initiatives.
