Cabinet Committee Reviews Restructuring Proposals for Information and Culture Ministries


Islamabad: A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Rightsizing of the Federal Government convened at the Finance Division, led by Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue. The focus was on evaluating restructuring proposals for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the National Heritage and Culture Division.



According to a statement by Press Information Department, the sub-committee, chaired by Mr. Salman Ahmad, Ambassador at Large, presented its findings after extensive consultations. The recommendations are aimed at boosting productivity and efficiency within the ministries, enhancing public service delivery, and ensuring impactful activities.



The proposals include potential mergers, function transfers, third-party audits, and establishing timelines for achieving self-sustainability. These measures are intended to streamline the organizational structures as part of the government’s rightsizing initiative.



The meeting saw active participation from committee members and senior officers from the relevant ministries, who discussed the proposals in detail. Feedback from both the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the National Heritage and Culture Division was considered.



The Cabinet Committee on Rightsizing will finalize its recommendations soon and submit them to the Federal Cabinet for approval.
