Police arrest four street criminals

KARACHI: The Karachi’s Quaidabad police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four accused involved in street crime and motorcycle lifting during operations against criminal elements.

According to police sources, a squad of Quaidabad police raided near Sherpao Colony and Mehran Highway areas and arrested four accused identified as Arsalan alias Sheen, Subhanullah alias Zakhmi, Hasban and Arshad. The police said that accused were involved in street crime and motorcycle lifting.

The police recovered four 30 bore pistols and magazines from the arrested accused. The arrested suspects were wanted by the police in several cases of snatching and motorcycle theft. The arrested accused used to commit incidents in different areas of Malir and Korangi districts, the police officials said.

The arrested accused Subhanullah alias Zakhmi and Arsalan alias Sheen were also absconding in case No.451/2018 of firing and attempted murder on the police registered in Quaidabad police station. The police have registered cases against the accused and started further investigation.

Drug dealer couple arrested

KARACHI: The Malir police on Tuesday arrested a drug dealer couple in Bilawal Jokhio Goth area of the city.

 

According to police sources, the Malir Cantt police conducted a raid in Bilawal Jokhio Goth in Malir and arrested a couple involved in drug supply. The arrested couple identified as Mohabbat Khan and Ayesha alias Guddu, wife of Mohabbat Khan

 

The police said more than two kilograms of hashish were recovered from the arrested accused. The arrested accused were selling drugs in the surrounding areas including Memon Goth. A case has been registered against the accused.

 

Police arrests four wanted drug dealers

 

KARACHI: The Quaidabad police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four wanted drug dealers including siblings in various operations during crackdown against drug suppliers.

 

According to police sources, a squad of Quaidabad police conducted raid in different areas and arrested four wanted drug dealers including two brothers on a tip-off. The arrested accused have been identified as Zahid Khan, Imtiaz Khan, Shaukat Ali and Shahid Ayaz.

 

The police said to have recovered more than 10 kg of fine quality hashish from the arrested accused. The names of the arrested suspects were included in the list of wanted drug dealers in the city. The arrested suspects confessed to supplying drugs to drug dealers in different parts of the city, including Malir District, the police officials said. The police has registered cases against the arrested accused and started further interrogation.

AVLC nab six motorcycle lifters in Karachi

KARACHI: Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of Sindh police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested six motorcycle lifters in Karachi.

 

According to a statement issued by the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Arif Aslam Rao, the vehicle lifters were allegedly involved in stealing motorcycles in the city.

 

The SSP AVLC said that six motorcycle lifter suspects were arrested and seven stolen motorcycles recovered from their possession. The arrested were identified as Rana Niaz, Ashiq Ali, Tahir Sakhro, Tahir, Danish, Haider Ali and Ali Anwar.

 

All the accused were wanted to Karachi police in various criminal and motorcycle lifting cases, the SSP said. He said accused Ashiq Ali was a big buyer of stolen motorbikes and used to sell them in Sujawal and different areas in Sindh without documents. He said that an accused, Haider Ali’s father had also been arrested and jailed 14 times in motorcycle theft cases.

 

According to the SSP, the accused, Tahir Sakhro, commits most of the robberies in Bin Qasim, Quaidabad, Landhi, Malir and Khokhrapar. Accused Niaz alias Fuji belongs to a large gang and specializes in motorcycle theft. Accused Ali Anwar is an accomplice of criminals and accused Haider Ali commits thefts on a daily basis.” The detainees have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.

 

Boy killed in road accident; relatives hold dem

NAWABSHAH: A boy was killed in a road accident at Sath Mail Nako area near Nawabshah on Friday.

 

According to rescue sources, Muntazir, aged 10, son of Sikandar Solangi, was hit by a fast-moving vehicle at Sath Mail Nako area near Nawabshah. As a result, he suffered severe injuries and died.

 

His body was shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere in the house. Later, boy father and relatives held protest demonstration outside local press club against the killing of the child in the accident. He said that the government had failed to overcome road accidents due to corruption and demanded of it to provide compensation and justice.

Two injured in separate firing incidents

KARACHI: Two people were shot and injured in separate incidents in the city in early hours of Friday.

 

According to rescue sources, a 55-year-old man, Asif Iqbal, son of Ghulam Sarwar, was shot injured by robbers over resistance in Port Qasim area. As a result, he sustained severe bullet injuries and rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment.

 

Separately, a security guard, Azhar Iqbal, aged 35, son of Ali Akbar was shot injured by the firing of other security guard namely Meer Hassan at Jabbar Steel mills Sher Shah. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment while the accused Meer Hasan has been arrested by police.

Youth killed, two females injured in separate incidents in megalopolis

KARACHI:  A youth was drowned and two females were injured in separate incidents in different areas of Karachi on Wednesday.

 

According to rescue sources, a girl, Fatima, aged 10, and a woman, Anaika, 35, were injured in a road accident near Abtak TV channel office in Gudam Chowrangi area of Karachi. They were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.

 

In another incident, Syed Mohammad Ali, aged 25, son of Iqbal Pasha, was drowned in a tank near Continental Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere among the family members and relatives.
