Nine killed in Orakzai coalmine blast

Orakzai: Nine people were killed in a coal mine blast in the Orakazi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province on Wednesday. According to reports, the team went into the mine for a survey when the blast took place. As a result, nine people were killed. The reason for the blast has not been ascertained so far. According to locals, 13 people went into the mine and just 4 people escaped. Rescue workers managed to pull four labourers who were stuck in the coal mine.

PTI leads in AJK councils poll with 197 seats; PPP second with 194 seats

MUZAFFARABAD: The election authority Tuesday notified official results of 664 seats of the local councils out of total 669 seats in the first phase of the local councils’ election in three districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is leading in the polls with 197 seats, closely followed by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) bagging 194 seats. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have 127 seats and the independent candidates have won 121 seats of local councils in the region. Muslim Conference declared winner on 22 seats and JKPP, Tehreek-e-Labbaik and Jamaat Islami have won single seat each. PAKPATTAN: An irate man killed her sister over a property dispute in Arifwala area on Monday. According to rescue sources, a brother opened fire on her sister Fakhra Bibi near Pakpattan. As a result, she suffered severe bullet injuries and died on the spot. Her body was shifted to a nearby hospital for medico legal formalities. Dejected youth commits suicide; woman killed separately

Narowal: A dejected young man committed suicide in Narowal. According to police, Khalid after being dejected over unemployment laid himself under the wheels of a train in Narowal.
