A noticeable gap persisted between the US dollar’s value in the open market and the interbank system on Wednesday.
According to figures released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, in the open market, the American dollar was quoted with a buying rate of PKR 280.91 and a selling rate of PKR 281.40.
Simultaneously, the greenback was valued in the interbank market at PKR 280.37 for buying and PKR 280.57 for selling, highlighting the premium demanded by exchange companies.
Among other major international currencies, the British Pound Sterling was the most expensive legal tender, with its bid and ask prices standing at PKR 373.21 and PKR 376.62, respectively.
The Euro was priced at PKR 326.09 for buying and PKR 329.04 for selling.
Key currencies from the Middle East also saw updated valuations. The UAE Dirham was traded between PKR 76.51 and PKR 77.29, while the Saudi Riyal was available at PKR 74.80 for buying and PKR 75.43 for selling.
The Japanese Yen was quoted with a buying value of PKR 1.77 and a selling value of PKR 1.83.
