The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) today vowed to ramp up its efforts in assisting the government to achieve economic excellence.
This announcement was made during a meeting, where LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, alongside Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh and Vice President Khurram Lodhi, engaged with various business delegations.
The discussions highlighted the chamber”s commitment to fostering a robust public-private partnership by offering sector-specific research to governmental bodies. Key issues such as regulatory reforms, taxation, infrastructure development, and skill enhancement dominated the agenda, with all delegations recognizing LCCI”s indispensable role in bridging the gap between the business sector and the government.
Women Entrepreneurs, headed by Aamna Randhawa, emphasized the necessity of inclusive growth, advocating for government-backed initiatives to empower female-led enterprises, which they believe could significantly drive employment and innovation. On the other hand, Asmatullah Khan Niazi and Lala Yasir led dialogues with transport and logistics representatives, urging immediate action on incentives and public investments to overhaul Pakistan”s logistics framework.
The Marketing Association of Pakistan (MAP) called for strategic measures to bolster digital marketing and export branding, aiming to enhance Pakistan”s standing on the global trade stage. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Grinding Mills Association pointed out the urgent need to address rising energy costs and resource shortages, calling for long-term industrial policies to secure sustainability and competitiveness.
LCCI President Saigol reaffirmed the chamber”s dedication to being the business community”s leading advocate, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors in tackling economic hurdles. The chamber, he noted, is determined to continue its advocacy for pragmatic reforms and serve as a crucial link between policymakers and industry leaders.
Senior VP Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh and VP Khurram Lodhi echoed this sentiment, stressing LCCI”s commitment to proactive engagement across all sectors. They underscored the significance of policy continuity and business-friendly governance in unlocking Pakistan”s economic potential, ensuring that the Chamber”s forthcoming policy recommendations will reflect the concerns and suggestions of its stakeholders.
