Member of the National Assembly, Ms Ghazala Anjum, today pledged her support for the University of Chitral, addressing its pressing financial issues and student needs.
During her visit, she met with the university leadership and student body, emphasizing her commitment to enhance educational opportunities and infrastructure. Professor Dr. HazirUllah, the Vice Chancellor, highlighted the institution’s dire financial condition and appealed for assistance in establishing endowment funds, expanding scholarship opportunities, and securing federal funding for infrastructure projects.
He also urged for an increase in the quota of the Prime Minister”s Youth Laptop Scheme to better equip students with necessary digital tools. Ms Anjum assured students of her intention to advocate for a substantial increase in the laptop scheme allocation, raising it from 200 to 1,500 slots. This initiative aims to significantly boost students” access to essential digital resources, thereby enhancing their academic experience.
Expressing her satisfaction with the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects, Ms Anjum lauded the Vice Chancellor and his team for their dedication. She reiterated her promise to provide continuous support, reinforcing her confidence in the university”s leadership by stating that the institution is indeed in capable hands.
