ENERGY- Govt’s Pledge to Modernize Energy Sector Faces Crucial Test

Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari today affirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to revamping the nation’s energy landscape.

During discussions with a delegation from the German Development Agency, led by the German Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission Arno Kirchhof, the minister outlined strategic initiatives aimed at transforming the sector.

The dialogue, held in Islamabad, focused on ongoing collaboration in energy, where both parties explored initiatives on decarbonization and the digitization of power distribution networks. This partnership aims to propel Pakistan towards a more sustainable and advanced energy framework.

Minister Leghari praised Germany”s steadfast support, emphasizing Pakistan”s intention to deepen relations with global allies to boost research, enhance capacity building, and drive policy reforms. The meeting highlighted the government”s focus on leveraging international cooperation to realize these ambitious goals.

The German delegation reiterated its commitment through GIZ to support Pakistan in making its energy sector not only more modern but also environmentally sustainable. This assurance marks a pivotal step in fortifying the partnership between the two nations towards achieving a greener future.
