House Business Advisory Committee (HBAC) of the Senate met here at the Parliament House on Tuesday.

The Committee, presided over by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, discussed in detail legislative business to be transacted during the 348th Session of the Senate.

Besides legislative business, the session would take up discussion on current situation of important national and international issues. The HBAC decided that the current session is likely to continue for two weeks.

The Committee paid rich tribute to late Senators Taj Haider and Prof Khursheed Ahmad for their steadfast commitment and invaluable contribution.

Chairman Senate and members of the HBAC eulogized services of late Senator Taj Haider and late Prof Khursheed Ahmad’s contributions for the country and said that their services would long be remembered.

Members of the Committee also greeted Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani for being elected as founding Chairman of Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC).

They termed it a success of Pakistan’s parliamentary diplomacy. It is a great achievement for Pakistan and particularly the Upper House of Parliament, the members observed while felicitating the Chairman Senate.

The Secretary Senate Syed Hasnain Haider briefed the Committee about the legislative business to be transacted during the current session.
