Srinagar, June 23, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred four Kashmiri youth in Shopian district, today. The troops martyred the youth during a violent cordon and search operation at Daramdora in Keegam area of the district. The martyred youth were identified as Showkat Ahmed, Azad Ahmed Khandey, Suhail Yousuf and Rafi Hassan Mir. The occupation authorities suspended internet service in the district. The troops had martyred one youth during a similar operation in Uri area of Baramulla district, yesterday. The Indian forces’ personnel launched a cordon and search operation in Charwan village of Kangan area of Ganderbal district, today.
Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Democratic Freedom Party in their statements paid glowing tributes to the martyred youth. Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai said that India was mistaken if it believed that it could resolve the Kashmir dispute by the use of brute force. He urged New Delhi to give up its stubborn approach and settle the lingering dispute through peaceful means of dialogue in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
On the other hand, a government school teacher, Farooq Ahmed Dar, was found hanging from a tree in Hariwala village in Mahore area of Reasi district of Jammu region, today. Muslims are often abducted by Hindu fanatics and killed in a brutal manner in one way or the other in Jammu region. Seven persons were injured when a passenger vehicle collided with a truck near Nilgrar in Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district, today.
In Washington, the US State Department in its 2018 International Religious Freedom Report said that the mob attacks by violent extremist Hindu groups against the minority communities, particularly Muslims, continued in India in 2018. The report said that some senior officials of the ruling BJP made inflammatory speeches against the minority communities. The report also mentioned the brutal gang-rape and murder of eight-year-old Aasifa Bano of Kathua area of Jammu region of occupied Kashmir by the Hindu extremists including police personnel affiliated with right-wing Hindu organizations.
