A concluded international exhibition for hand-knotted carpets is set to provide a significant boost to Pakistan”s economy, with foreign buyers signing numerous agreements that are anticipated to substantially increase exports and foreign exchange earnings in the current fiscal year.
International representatives attending the three-day event lauded the excellent hospitality and the high standards of the products on display. They noted a strong global demand for carpets crafted by Pakistani artisans, with companies from several nations placing orders and purchasing items directly at the showcase.
Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman, Chairman of the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA), along with Exhibition Committee Chairman Riaz Ahmed, described the event”s outcome as exceeding all expectations. They highlighted that the superior quality and captivating designs of Pakistani products received widespread acclaim from international delegates.
According to feedback from the event, the commercial success was a welcome development for the industry, as nearly every manufacturer and exporter who participated secured valuable export orders.
The organizers extended their gratitude to the foreign buyers for visiting Pakistan, adding that measures have been initiated to fortify mutual business relationships for long-term benefits. They emphasized that the international exhibition has cemented its role as a vital platform for elevating the export of hand-knotted carpets, acting as a source of encouragement for the entire industry.
The association also acknowledged the crucial support from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). The chairmen stated that the authority”s complete cooperation was instrumental in orchestrating the successful event.
