Japan-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League Revived to Bolster Diplomatic Ties

The Japan Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League has been formally revitalized, marking a significant step towards enhancing diplomatic engagement and cooperation between the two nations.

It was announced during an inaugural meeting on Friday. The gathering was addressed by Pakistan”s Ambassador-designate to Japan, Mr. Abdul Hameed, who attended upon a special invitation from the league”s Chairman, Mr. Seiji Maehara, a Member of Japan”s House of Representatives.

In his address, Chairman Maehara lauded the upward trajectory of Pakistan-Japan cooperation and made a special reference to his participation in Pakistan”s National Day event at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025.

Ambassador-designate Hameed conveyed his satisfaction with the revival of the parliamentary group. He highlighted that the long-standing bilateral relationship is rooted in a shared commitment to peace, development cooperation, and prosperity, further strengthened by parliamentary diplomacy and six institutional mechanisms facilitating collaboration in multiple areas.

The event concluded with a mutual commitment from both sides to expand the current scope of bilateral relations.
