The Karachi Stock Exchange witnessed a significant boost on Thursday, with the KSE100 index climbing by 638.50 points, a 0.54% increase, closing at 118,971.41. The KSE30 index also showed a promising rise of 235.97 points, marking a 0.66% increase to end at 36,204.60.
The market saw a substantial turnover, with the regular market reaching 741,654,162 shares, up from 690,389,276 previously. This surge was reflected in the traded value, which rose to 23,911,115,986. The market capitalization also experienced growth, climbing to 14,426,411,186,280 from the previous 14,347,405,772,614.
In the ready market, WorldCall Telecom led the turnover with 137,517,831 shares, showing an increase in its closing rate to 1.43. KElectric Ltd. followed, despite a slight dip, maintaining a significant turnover of 119,635,956 shares. Meanwhile, P.T.C.L. registered a notable gain, closing at 26.23, with a turnover of 65,676,043 shares.
Top gainers included PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which soared by 2,427.65 to close at 26,704.13, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited rose by 230.64 to 2,537.01. Conversely, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited faced a decline of 175.71, closing at 10,108.33, and Supernet Technologies Limited dropped by 66.88 to close at 818.69.
Overall, the market exhibited a positive trend with 228 companies advancing, 84 declining, and 3 remaining unchanged out of a total of 315 companies.
