Larkana cops smashed 75 gangs, recovered drugs, weapons in 2022

LARKANA: Police on Monday claimed to have eradicated 75 gangs, arrested 55 suspects in injured condition in 58 police encounters, killed three criminals and recovered a large number of drugs and weapons during calendar year 2022.

The district spokesperson of Larkana Police revealed in an annual performance report that 1750 criminals involved in crimes, including street crimes, were arrested and cases were filed against them.

The report said that two hand grenades and seven Kalashnikovs were recovered from the arrested criminals along with three rifles, 179 pistols, 52 revolvers, 51 guns and a large number of bullets while 262 drug dealers were also arrested and 3.378kg heroin, 470kg hashish and 500 grams of ice were seized from their possession. The actions were also taken against illegal liquor sellers and drug dealers, from whom 50 liters of raw liquor and 130 bottles of liquor, were seized.

The report further claimed that as a result of operations against the perpeters and criminals, 216 vehicles were seized, including six cars and 210 motorcycles, while intoxicating betel nuts and Indian gutka containing 1055 kg were also confiscated.

It further said that in a crackdown against gamblers, 261 people were arrested and cases were filed against them, from whom money and cards were also seized. Rs76,40,700 stolen and 10 tola gold ornaments were also been recovered.

The report further claimed that the Larkana police had also recovered 22 cattle heads which were stolen from the limits of various police stations of the district. Larkana police have also resolved many problems through Women Protection Cell, Complaint Cell, Redressal Cell and Inquiry Cell after complaints of the citizens, the report concluded.
