Municipal Committee employees in Harnai staged a protest outside the Harnai Press Club on Tuesday, demanding the resolution of long-standing issues related to their salaries.
Led by the Harnai Municipal Employees Union, the rally began at the Municipal Committee premises. Chanting slogans in support of their demands, participants marched through various streets before converging at the press club.
The protesters called on the authorities to ensure the immediate payment of overdue monthly salaries and to computerize the salary disbursement system for transparency. They also demanded advance salaries for Christian employees ahead of Christmas celebrations.
Speaking at the demonstration, Habibullah, President of the Harnai Municipal Employees Union, emphasized the financial hardships faced by workers due to salary delays. “We urge the authorities to address these issues immediately and ensure that employees are paid on time in the future,” he said.
The protest concluded peacefully, with participants warning of continued demonstrations if their demands were not met.
