Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam has issued a stern warning to motorists, urging them to obtain driving licenses promptly to avoid legal action, while new data reveals that traffic authorities provided facilities to over 84,500 citizens last month.
A spokesperson for the Rawalpindi Traffic Police stated today that 23,266 learner permits were issued last month.
The spokesperson confirmed that 15,025 new regular driving licenses were issued to eligible applicants during the same period.
The department also completed the renewal of 5,208 licenses and 929 endorsements on existing driving documents.
Furthermore, 154 citizens successfully obtained international driving permits, while an additional 39,915 individuals were provided with other miscellaneous licensing facilities.
CTO Rawalpindi expressed satisfaction with the use of the services, stating, “It is a welcome development that a large number of citizens are benefiting from the licensing facilities.”
The CTO attributed the smooth process to the directives of higher authorities, saying, “On the instructions of the DIG Traffic, exemplary licensing facilities are being provided to the citizens.”
For better accessibility, CTO Farhan Aslam also advised the public to use the official DLIMS website for online licensing services.
