Islamabad, February 13, 2020 (PPI-OT):Syed Amjad Shah, Vice-Chairman and Mr. Sher Muhammad Khan, Chairman, Executive Committee, Pakistan Bar Council, have issued the following statement:-
“We strongly condemn the kidnapping of Col. ® Inam-ur-Rahim, Advocate yesterday midnight, by about 8/10 unknown armed persons in uniforms, from his residence at Askari 14, Adyala Road, Rawalpindi. The kidnappers forcibly entered the House of Col. ® Inam-ur-Rahim, Advocate and threatened his Son and other family members of dire consequences if they report the incident to anyone, and then picked up Col. ® Inam-ur-Rahim, Advocate, on gun point, from his house and went away in Vego vehicles. Since then his family members are unaware of his whereabouts despite their having reported the unfortunate incident to the Police.
Col. ® Inam-ur-Rahim, Advocate is being victimized for his having vocally raising voice and lodging protests against the constant incidents of missing persons and even approaching the Courts of law for their safe recovery and as such has all along been pleading the cause of missing persons. Kidnapping of Col. ® Inam-ur-Rahim, Advocate, who is struggling for a just cause, apprehensively is at the behest of Agencies which is highly condemnable.
We, therefore, demand the Government and other concerned Institutions/Agencies for forthwith release of Col. ® Inam-ur-Rahim, Advocate and taking action against the kidnappers for their having violated the law to deprive a retired Army Officer from his right of liberty and life as well as lawful activity for protection of human rights and thus putting his life in danger.”
