Pakistan Coast Guard foils bid to smuggle contraband goods

QUETTA: Pakistan Coast Guard claims to have foiled the bid to smuggle contraband goods in an operation conducted at Naka Kari check post in district Lasbela of Balochistan province on Friday. Two alleged accused were also arrested during the operation.

According to a statement issued by the spokesperson for Pakistan Coast Guard, acting on a tip-off provided by the informer, staff of Pakistan Coast Guard intercepted a suspicious LPG Tanker at Coast Guard check post Naka Kari in Winder area of district Lasbela. Upon searching, 18177 kilogram Betel Nuts and 16677 packets of Indian Gutka worth Rs 26.51 million were recovered from the hidden cavities of LPG Tanker. Two alleged accused were also arrested during the operation. Further investigation was underway.
