Pakistan and Saudi Arabia today signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering cooperation in judicial training, legal reform, and technological advancement, marking a key development during the Second International Conference on Justice.

The agreement was formalized during a meeting between Pakistan”s Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, and his Saudi counterpart, H.E. Waleed Mohammed Alsmani. Senator Tarar was in the city leading Pakistan”s delegation at the global summit.

Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the two-day event convened ministers, jurists, and legal experts from over 40 nations to deliberate on judicial quality, digital transformation, and improved international cooperation within the justice sector.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Pakistani law minister also engaged in a series of high-level bilateral discussions with justice ministers from Iran, Trkiye, and Azerbaijan.

Discussions with Iran’s Dr. Amin Hossein Rahimi centered on strengthening mutual legal collaboration and institutional ties. Separately, Senator Tarar and Trkiye’s H.E. Y?lmaz Tunç explored opportunities for deepening cooperation in modernising judicial processes, while talks with Azerbaijan”s H.E. Farid Ahmadov focused on expanding bilateral legal frameworks and sharing best practices.

The minister reiterated Pakistan”s dedication to fostering international partnerships in the justice domain, noting that such engagements are crucial for enhancing access to justice, reinforcing the rule of law, and aligning domestic reforms with global standards.
