Karachi: President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Muhammad Ikram Rajput, has expressed strong support for the relief measures announced by Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Energy, Sardar Awais Leghari, and Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb. These measures are designed to assist industries and exporters and are seen as crucial for the national economy.
According to Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, the relief measures, which include a reduction of PKR 4.04 per kilowatt-hour in electricity tariffs for industries and an increase in the financing rate under the Export Refinance Scheme from policy rate minus 3 percent to minus 6 percent, are expected to significantly lower production costs and provide substantial financial support to exporters. These initiatives are anticipated to foster economic recovery by reducing production costs, promoting industrial activities, and increasing exports.
Muhammad Ikram Rajput emphasized that these steps will help address energy and financial challenges faced by industries and create a favorable environment for increased exports, economic activity, and investment. He also highlighted the importance of these initiatives in stabilizing the national economy and enhancing Pakistan's position as an export-oriented country in the global market.
