The demonstration against severe delays in the hospital project and inadequate health facilities continued for the 31st consecutive day on Monday, with local residents expressing their frustration, calling it a serious public health crisis.
The ongoing protest, organized by the Sajag Shehri Ittehad, involved a protest march from Shah Latif Park, culminating in a sit-in. Led by the alliance’s president, Comrade Muhammad Rafi Laghari, and other key officials, the protest saw a large number of citizens, youth, social leaders, and journalists participate.
Addressing the rally, speakers blamed the negligence of the district administration, the health department, and elected representatives for the prolonged delay in the construction of the Taluka Hospital. They emphasized that the project has been incomplete for several years, forcing the public to rely on a substandard rural health center.
The leaders stated that the current health center lacks essentials, including doctors, medicines, and emergency treatment facilities, causing severe hardship for the local population. They stressed that despite a month of continuous protest to address these civic issues, the elected representatives of the constituency and the health department officials have ignored their pleas.
The alliance has vowed that their protest campaign will continue until the construction of the Taluka Hospital is completed and comprehensive medical facilities are provided to the public.
