PTCL Expands Its Reach with Complete Acquisition of Telenor Pakistan

Karachi: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced the completion of its acquisition of Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers, marking a significant shift in the nation's telecom landscape. As of December 31, 2025, these companies will operate as fully owned subsidiaries of PTCL, joining the ranks of Ufone 4G and U Microfinance Bank under its umbrella.

Telenor Pakistan will continue as a separate entity during a transition period before merging with PTCL's Pak Telecom Mobile Limited. This integration, subject to regulatory approvals, aims to form a combined entity known as MergeCo, enhancing network capabilities and service offerings.

PTCL acknowledged Telenor's contributions over the years, noting its role in improving service quality and connectivity. The acquisition aims to leverage the strengths of both entities to drive customer-focused innovation and support Pakistan's digital growth.
