In response to the recent flood devastation, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered the immediate construction and repair of roads and protective embankments in the affected areas. Her directive emphasizes the importance of infrastructure restoration and safeguarding vulnerable regions from future water-related disasters.
Applauding the efforts of Minister for Communication and Works Sohaib Bharth and Secretary C and W Sohail Ashraf, Chief Minister Sharif highlighted the complete construction and repair of the Noorjah Bhatta Bund on the outskirts of Muzaffargarh. The bund, which had suffered a 1,250-foot breach, has been transformed into a robust 3,450-foot protective barrier.
Other achievements include the repair of two roads with a combined breach of 410 feet and the completion of a 23,000-foot diversionary track along the Hafiz Wala Motorway. Over 80 percent of the work on a 33,700-foot breach is also nearing completion, demonstrating the urgency and effectiveness of the ongoing efforts.
