Lahore: Punjab Police’s Special Operations Cell has successfully extradited another fugitive wanted in a murder case. In a recent operation, the police arrested Munsaf Ali, a proclaimed offender, who had evaded capture by fleeing to Muscat after allegedly committing murder earlier this year.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, Munsaf Ali was wanted by the Gujranwala Police for the fatal shooting of a citizen in 2023. This marks the fifth instance this year in which the Punjab Police have managed to arrest a fugitive abroad and bring them back to Pakistan.
IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, extended his congratulations to the Regional Police Officer and the City Police Officer of Gujranwala, as well as the entire police team involved in the operation. He also urged the Special Operations Cell to persist in their efforts to apprehend more proclaimed offenders.
In collaboration with Interpol and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Punjab Police aims to continue its crackdown on fugitives involved in serious crimes, ensuring they are brought back to face justice in Pakistan.
