Renovated football ground opened in Shah Faisal Colony

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi, Sindh government’s Spokesman and CM Advisor on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Tuesday said that Azam Football Ground in Cantt Bazaar Shah Faisal Colony has been renovated and inaugurated.

Director General Parks Junaidullah Khan, DMC East Municipal Commissioner Wasim Soomro, PPP leader Javed Sheikh and a large number of area residents were present on the occasion of inauguration.

Addressing a function held on the occasion, the Administrator Karachi said that it was a dream to build a football ground of three acres which has come true today and all the work of the ground is being done with KMC’s own resources for the betterment of the people of Karachi.

“I hope that the children and youth of the area will be able to play football here in a good environment,” he added and said that now work is being done in Karachi in those areas which have been neglected in the past.

Talking to media, he said that in a meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Monday, consultations were held on empowerment of local bodies in accordance with Article 148-A of the Constitution and hoped that positive and better results would emerge.

He said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan has harmed Pakistan and is continuing to do so. “PTI has destroyed the culture and civilization of our society, he said,” adding that Imran Khan was inciting people against the state which could be bring devastating results.

The Administrator Karachi said that he believes in working and likes to stay away from conspiracies. “Therefore, my focus in Karachi is on construction work in line with my party’s vision,” he added. Wahab said that roads are being constructed at Shahra-e-Noor Jahan, in Federal B Area from KIHD to Gulberg and from Fish Chowk on Hawke’s Bay to KANUPP.

Similarly, he said that i17 roads are being constructed simultaneously in the site area. He said that new underpasses is being constructed at Johar Chowrangi which will improve the flow of traffic at this Chowrangi.
