LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department Saturday issued a notification of imposing Section 144 in an area of 5km around Lahore Airport.

A notification has been issued, according to which Section 144 will remain in force in the vicinity of the airport till September 10. The decision is taken in view of incidents of bird collisions with passenger planes. Section 144 is imposed in a 5km area around Lahore Airport before Defense Day.

In the notification, it is said that on the recommendation of district administration Lahore and Additional Chief Secretary Home, Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 for 5km around Lahore Airport. The notification further says the flying of pigeons, and the use of fireworks and laser lights will be banned in the areas around the airport.

The notification states that flying drone cameras and throwing meat for charity have been banned in these areas, and action will be taken against those violating Section 144. Assistant Commissioner Cantt has been appointed as focal person in this regard.
