Srinagar, March 15, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Jamiat Ahle Hadith has condemned the slapping of draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) on party’s Vice President and religious scholar, Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, and shifting him to a Jammu jail.
Jamiat Ahle Hadith President, Professor Ghulam Muhammad Butt Al-Madni, and Nazim-e-Aala, Dr Abdul Latif Al-Kandi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that such cheap tactics by the occupation authorities could not weaken the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people. They said Jamiat Ahle Hadith is a purely religious and welfare organization and it would not remain silent over the arrests of its religious scholars.
They said imposing curbs on prominent Khateeb, Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, is tantamount to attack on religious sentiments of the people and demanded his immediate release. Meanwhile, Hurriyat leaders Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Imtiaz Ahmed Reshi and Ghulam Nabi War in their statements strongly condemned arbitrary arrest and slapping of PSA on political leaders.
They said that the arrest of JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Jamia Ahle Hadith leader, Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri, Jamaat Chief Spokesman, Advocate Zahid Ali, and Hurriyat leaders and activist including Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Abdul Ahad Para is undemocratic and highly condemnable.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Mir Shahid Saleem, in a statement issued in Jammu said that Jamaat-e-Islami is a major religious and welfare organisation and imposing ban on it is unjustified. He said India is applying every tactic to promote its culture in the territory but the brave people of Kashmir would foil its nefarious designs and would never allow interference in their religious matters.
